Irans Supreme Leader Confirmed Killed By Israels Joint Attack With America

On February 28 and into March 1, 2026, Israel and the United States launched a coordinated joint military operation against Iran, marking a significant escalation in long-running tensions over Tehran’s nuclear and missile programs. The offensive involved extensive airstrikes by Israeli forces and participation by U. S. military assets targeting Iranian military infrastructure, command centers, missile sites, air defenses, and political leadership compounds. Several senior Iranian officials and commanders were reported killed in the strikes as multiple strategic targets were hit. Some reports indicated that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed or his compound destroyed, though Iranian officials provided conflicting statements about his status, asserting that he and other senior leaders remained alive and were safe in secure locations. Explosions were heard in multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Qom, Isfahan and others, as air defenses were engaged and damage was observed across the region. Civilian areas also experienced impacts, with reports of casualties, smoke rising over urban centers and disruptions to daily life. Iran responded to the strikes by launching ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israeli territory as well as U. S. military bases throughout the Middle East, including in the Gulf states. Some missiles were intercepted, although there were reports of deaths and injuries from retaliatory actions in both Israel and neighboring countries. Iran’s government declared a period of mourning and vowed “no leniency” against what it described as violations of international law, while Iranian military commanders pledged further action. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the nation’s resilience and readiness to continue defending its sovereignty, and confirmed that many officials remained in position. Israel declared a state of emergency, closed its airspace and urged civilians to follow shelter protocols amid incoming threats. International reactions were mixed. Some world leaders condemned the military action and called for calm, while others emphasized the need for de-escalation and a return to diplomatic negotiations. The strikes disrupted global markets and raised concerns over regional stability, particularly around critical energy routes like the Strait of Hormuz.
the Strait of Hormuz. Efforts to resume diplomatic talks over nuclear and security issues were overshadowed by the immediate conflict, and protests against the violence emerged in multiple countries.
