PRESIDENT MUSEVENI DIRECTS MINISTRY OF FINANCE TO SECURE BAILOUT FOR NDERE CULTURAL CENTER
President Museveni has directed the Ministry of Finance to secure bailout for Ndere Cultural Centre.

The iconic institution was two weeks ago hit into pionage after an auction notice was published in the dailies.
But Mr Museveni has since chipped in to save Ndere from going under due to the unpaid loan.

Located in Kisaasi, a suburb of Kampala, the centre that serves as a hub for the preservation and promotion of Uganda’s rich cultural heritage was earlier this month, along with two other properties owned by Stephen Rwangyezi, listed for public auction by Quickway Auctioneers & Court Bailiffs.

Speaking on Wednesday, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr Chris Baryomunsi, told journalists in Kampala that the President has directed the Ministry of Finance to start the process of saving Ndere Cultural Centre.

“The government has accepted to come in and rescue Ndere Centre. The president has instructed the Ministry of Finance to work out mechanisms on how Ndere Centre can be supported,” Baryomunsi said.
