On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the body of 17-year-old Precious Arinitwe, a Senior Four student, was found hanging from a tree. Just the day before, she had been suspended from the school over what officials described as "indiscipline." The Kampala Metropolitan Police quickly confirmed the tragic news, with Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire stating that investigations are underway to piece together the exact circumstances. "The body was found hanging from a tree," he said in a brief update, adding that a post-mortem examination would help determine the cause of death. Right now, though, the signs point heavily toward suicide, leaving everyone grappling with questions about what pushed a bright young girl to such despair.
